Description
Café coffee at home — for less than ₵200/month
The MA-FACM1001 is a proper espresso machine, not a “coffee maker”. The 15-bar pump extracts real crema from ground coffee — the thick golden foam that signals a real espresso. A typical takeaway cappuccino costs the same as 6 espressos from this machine.
What you can make
- Espresso — single or double shot
- Cappuccino — espresso + steamed milk + foam (use the frother wand)
- Latte — espresso + steamed milk, less foam
- Macchiato — espresso + dollop of foam
- Americano — espresso + hot water
- Mocha — espresso + chocolate + steamed milk
Why this machine
Most home coffee machines on the market are 3-5 bar — they make coffee-flavoured water, not espresso. The MA-FACM1001 runs at 15 bar, the same pressure as commercial machines. That’s the difference between foam and crema.
The thermoblock heating system brings water to the right brewing temperature (90-96°C) in 25 seconds. Cheap machines take 2-3 minutes to heat up, and the temperature drops mid-brew.
The 2L removable water tank means you brew 8-10 espressos before refilling. Pull the tank out, fill from the tap, slide back in.

Running cost
Ground coffee in Ghana runs about GH₵80 for 250g. Each espresso uses ~9g, so 1 espresso ≈ GH₵3 in beans. Compare to GH₵30-50 for a takeaway cappuccino. The machine pays for itself in 100-150 cups.
Warranty
12-month warranty on the machine, 3-year warranty on the pump. If anything fails in the first year, Baahe replaces it. After that, we have a service centre in Accra for paid repairs.
Delivery
2-4 days to Greater Accra (insured courier — coffee machines are fragile). 3-5 days to other regions of Ghana. Ships to other West African destinations on request — contact us for a quote.
Questions
Do I need ground coffee or beans? This machine comes with a portafilter for ground coffee. If you want to use beans, we’d recommend adding a separate grinder (we sell the Midea MJ-BL40G1 for GH₵650).
Is it hard to learn? The first espresso takes 2-3 attempts to dial in (grind size, tamp pressure, shot time). After that, it’s muscle memory. We include a 1-page quick-start guide and a recipe booklet.
How do I clean it? The portafilter rinses under the tap. The steam wand wipes with a damp cloth. Every 2 weeks, run a descaling cycle (white vinegar + water). We include a cleaning brush.
